Graduated from the Moscow State Conservatoire.
Started his career as a conductor in the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia. For three seasons he was Principal Conductor in two major opera theatres of Moscow – the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre and the Kolobov New Opera Theatre where he directed Norma, The Tsar’s Bride and others.
Since September 2004 he has devoted himself solely to the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre. He has been working as music director and conductor of the performances: La traviata, Macbeth, Otello by Verdi, War and Peace by Prokofiev, Eugene Onegin by Tchaikovsky, Medea by Cherubini. Collaborated with Peter Stein for a new production of Verdi’s Aida, which enjoyed great success and resulted in an invitation to the Teatro alla Scala, where he made his debut with John Cranko's Onegin in 2017. The 2017/18 season marked Felix Korobov’s debut at the Auditorium of Madrid for the Fundación Excelentia, performing some of the Russian masterworks for orchestra. He returned to La Scala in October 2018, conducting L’Histoire de Manon by Massenet and is re-invited to conduct The Sleeping Beauty in 2019. Also collaborated with such renowned choreographers as John Neumeier in The Seagull, Little Mermaid and Tatiana, Oleg Vinogradov in Cinderella and Yuri Grigorovich in The Stone Flower.
Felix Korobov is Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Chamber Orchestra at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatoire.
Tours both as conductor and cellist. He has worked with symphony orchestras in Russia, Germany, Finland, Italy etc.
Has multiple CD-recordings, including the ones with the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia.
